Because Tutaev is building boats that without pathos can be called the new heroes of Russian water transport. Boat Yard, produced by Diesel, is an example of how desire, ideas and perseverance create a product that can conquer both storms and export markets.

From generators to boats: the birth of an idea

Production of vessels made of low pressure polyethylene (LDPE) began in 2021. It would seem that there is a company that traditionally engaged in diesel generators. It all started with a visit to Sweden: the director of the enterprise saw how the HDP boats are operated there. Do not be careful, do not guard - just disperse and go to the rocky shore. No cracks, no deformation. Just confidence.

So the idea was born in my head: why not make such boats in Russia?

High-density low-pressure polyethylene is, without exaggeration, the material of a new era in shipbuilding. He:

It is not subject to corrosion (unlike aluminum).
Not afraid of shocks (unlike fiberglass).
does not require protective coatings,
It is easy to wash and not overgrown with marine life.
resistant to chemistry, frosts up to -50 °C,
And finally, unsinkable.

But there are no miracles. PHD has limitations — heavier body, less rigidity, less refined shapes. Nevertheless, Boat Yard found its niche: working boats, operation in difficult conditions, service and rescue use. It is here that the advantages of the material are fully revealed.

First experience and teamwork

The first boat was assembled literally by the whole team. The 8-meter monster was built by engineers, technologists and even managers. The first descent is like an exam. There were mistakes, there were corrections. But the result was inspirational.

So appeared boats series Docker - strong, reliable, working.

Later - a lighter and more compact boat Tide, 3 meters long, already focused on rest and mass use. He became the star of the exhibition MosBotShow 2024 and was certified as a serial product.

Today, a new model is in development - a boat with a length of 4.5 meters with the ability to transport up to 5 people and an engine up to 60 hp.

Where to build the boats of the future

The production of Boat Yard is located in Tutaev. Boats are built mainly shop, and serial "Tides" - on a dedicated production line. All cases are cut on CNC machines – accuracy, repeatability, high production culture.

The plant has its own test pool, where new models are tested.

Exit to the world - from the Volga River

From the beginning, the project was conceived as an export project. PHD boats are in demand in Europe, America, Southeast Asia. After 2022, the exchange rate was adjusted and now the focus is on Asian markets.

In Russia, Boat Yard relies on large cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Volga region. And the company forms a dealer network and actively promotes the product at profile exhibitions.

People who build boats

There are no big names or fancy titles. There's a team - a real one. Everyone is important: from the welder to the designer. The project is led by Alexey Baranov, Deputy Director for Innovations. His enthusiasm, according to colleagues, became the engine of the whole project.

Boat Yard today is:

growing interest from private clients, law enforcement agencies and professional users;
And most importantly, an ambitious team that believes that the ships of the future can be made right in the Yaroslavl region.
