The Expert Council on Sustainable Development has included new organizations under the IEA
On 17 September, the composition of the Expert Council on Sustainable Development, chaired by the Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Maxim Rechetnikov, was updated. An order was signed by the Department ' s management. This is the third update of the composition of the expert council.
According to an order, 11 organizations have become new members of the Board, including the Strategic Initiatives Agency for the Promotion of New Projects, the Analytical Credit rating Agency, DOM.RF, PAO Projectslinkbank, etc.
The Expert Council currently brings together 89 organizations from the banking and retail sectors, catering, construction, chemical, food, tobacco and forestry, metallurgy, energy and transport, technology and telecommunications. The Board also includes representatives of business associations, development institutions and rating agencies.
" Boards regularly share experiences and good practices in implementing projects to achieve sustainable development goals and to promote standards of responsible business among companies. " Discuss key risks and opportunities for business associated with the global trend towards sustainable development " , noted by Vladimir Ilichev, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, one of the Vice-Presidents of the Expert Council on Sustainable Development.
Last spring this year, the fifth meeting of the Expert Council on Sustainable Development, he said, focused on topical issues on the international climate agenda and regulatory instruments for sustainable development.
The Director-General of the Strategic Initiatives Agency for the promotion of new projects, Svetlana Chupsev, noted: " ESD is the most important venue for discussion with the regulator and business community of ASI projects in the area of sustainable development. In recent years, we have been actively engaged in environmental and climate issues, which have become one of the Agency ' s key areas of work. We emphasize both the improvement of the regulatory framework for adaptation to climate change and help regions assess climate change and develop adaptation plans, which is what the vector considers most relevant today. "

The Deputy Director, AKRA Risk Assessment Team Leader, Vladimir Gorchakov, also noted: " The sustainable development agenda in Russia is actively being developed through the Council ' s activities: its own non-financial reporting standard, a national carbon market and a market for sustainable development financial instruments are being developed. We, as the lead rating agency, are very much encouraged by the rise in industry standards of estimates and ratings. "
