In June 2024, annual inflation in the Jaroslava region increased to 7.85 per cent after 7.48% in May. However, its value was lower than in the Central Federal District (8.84%) and in general Russia (8.59%), where annual inflation also increased.

The increase was mainly due to the increased cost of food producers and the reduction of the supply of a number of vegetables. Inflation has also been influenced by increased demand for domestic and foreign recreation. This year, due to abnormal weather conditions in the southern regions of Russia, the supply of tomatoes has grown less rapidly than in the past year. As a result, prices increased in annual comparisons faster than in May. Meat and dairy products have become more expensive due to the transfer by producers of increased costs for wages, raw materials and logistics.

In the non-food segment, price increases for used foreign markers have slowed because of reduced demand. As the market has become more cheap steam and cosmetics, prices for toothpaste and shampoo have declined in June following their growth in May.

The start of the high holiday season has increased the demand for recreation abroad and within the country. As a result, the decline in recreational costs in Egypt in May has shifted, while sanatorium and health services were more expensive than a month earlier.

“The goal of the Bank of Russia is to reduce inflation. Although annual inflation in the country increased in June 2024, the current increase in consumer prices slowed somewhat. The main reason is the high domestic demand, which continues to outstrip supply expansion. In order to make the process of reducing inflation sustainable, strict monetary conditions must be maintained for longer periods than the Bank of Russia predicted in April, the manager of the Yugoslav branch of the Bank of Russia, Helen Burmistrov.
