Food inflation slowed in January in the Jaroslav region

Overall, annual inflation in the Yaroslav region increased in January 2025 to 10.67% after 10.29% a month earlier. The increase in the cost of non-food vendors, as well as the increase in individual service tariffs, were the reasons for the acceleration of inflation in the region.

Price changes were analysed in the monthly information and analysis material of the Bank of Russia.
In the non-food segment, dragmetalls and cars contributed to inflation. Thus, the jewellers have increased the cost of production, including the rise in world gold prices. This factor coincided with increased demand for gold products early in the year. As a result, the price of wedding rings grew faster annually than the previous month. The increase in the utilitative fee for imported vehicles in January this year led to higher prices for Russian vehicles following the average market.

In the area of services, the main price increases relate to tariff indexing as of 1 January this year for passenger transport.

" If seasonality is eliminated, prices increased less in January than in December. Price growth slowed down and sustained. However, this decline has been very high, and the monthly growth still remains significant in the region. There has been a marked acceleration in the price of services.” Comments are made by the manager of the Yugoslav branch of the Bank of Russia, Elena Burmistrow.
