Postal communication and courier services, employment and staff selection activities, as well as IT during the nine months of 2024, have become areas with a maximum share of new enterprises from the total number of SMEs.

For example, in the nine months of 2024, 31.7 per cent of SMEs engaged in postal and courier activities are new enterprises. A total of 4,283 new SMEs have been established during this period and their total number has reached 13492. Among the enterprises in the area of employment and staff selection for January-September 2024, the share of new SME entities was 27.9%, 3,340 out of 1-1987 enterprises. Another area with the largest share of new SME entities since the beginning of 2024 has been IT, where the figure was 22.8 per cent (1,1106 out of 48758 enterprises).

“The increase in the share of new SMEs in these areas is due to several factors, most of which are increased demand and increased dominance for certain industries. As a result, new enterprises in a number of areas, such as postal and courier activities, recruitment and employment, as well as the information technology industry, were intensified in 2024. As a result of the first nine months of this year, on average, each fourth small or harmful enterprise was newly established " , the Director-General of the SME Corporation, Alexander Isaevich, noted.

In 2023, postal communication and courier activities were also among the leaders, with 36.5 per cent of companies established and IPs. The total number of SMEs per year was 4,378, with a total of 1,1,1996 enterprises. Other areas also benefited from employment and recruitment, where the share of new businesses was 32.1% (3,317 out of 1,043 SMEs in this area). Retail trade (except for automotive and motor vehicles) and education accounted for 27.3 per cent of new small and medium-sized enterprises. The number of new SMEs was 3,98899 and 20997 respectively, with a total of 1458886 and 76923 enterprises.

As a result of 2022, postal and courier activities were also in leadership: the share of new SME actors was 29.4%, 2,956 out of 1,054 enterprises. In specialized construction, the share of new SMEs was 26 per cent, 7,7561 of 2,98831 enterprises. The new ICPs in the maintenance of buildings and territories accounted for 25.4 per cent, 11819 of 4,6524.

In 2021, the share of new SMEs in postal and courier activities was 29.7%, 2,713 of 9,148 enterprises. In the area of employment and staff selection, a similar figure was 25.9 per cent: 2,493 new SMEs out of 9639 enterprises. In education, as well as in the maintenance of buildings and territories, the share of new SMEs was 25.8 per cent, 11403 out of 44134 enterprises and 1,575 out of 6,631 small and medium-sized businesses in this area.
