The Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Vladimir Ilichev, presented the results of the Russian-Emirate Forum of Special Economic Zones, which was held in Moscow at the initiative of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Russia and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

" The Forum is an important continuation of the debate initiated this year by Russia within the framework of the BRICS, noted by the Deputy Minister. - He will give impetus to the practical implementation of our intentions to promote cooperation among the special economic zones of BRICS, which were recorded at the meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Trade in July.

Currently, he said that there were about 3,000 OEAs in the BRICS countries, accounting for about 40 per cent of the world ' s total. It is for this reason that Russia ' s initiative to establish the International Association of Special Economic Zones of BRICS has great potential to bring closer approaches to the establishment and management of territories with preferential and preferential regimes.

" We see the willingness of our BRICS partners to share their successful management models, which will allow the future development of common EEO standards, underlined by Vladimir Ilichev. - Cooperation in special economic zones in both bilateral and BRICS format will help to create competitive advantages and additional opportunities for investment and investment projects, for the full disclosure of the trade and investment capacities of our countries. "

According to the Deputy Minister, the joint efforts of partner countries to increase the effectiveness of existing EEOs, as well as the convergence of approaches to their regulation and transparency, will, in the future, contribute to the interest and confidence of international investors in this institution.

“The initiative for cooperation in the special economic zones of our countries will certainly affect the promotion of the export of electronic commerce goods and services, noted by Vladimir Ilichev. - The interaction of Russian and Emirate OEZs will contribute to the development of large electronic commerce platforms, the development of specialized online magazines through labels, the expansion of the logistics infrastructure for electronic commerce, including storage centres and distribution points.

Countries are now working to improve the conditions of foreign economic activity. Two strategic documents, the economic partnership agreement between EEA and EEA and the bilateral agreement on free trade in services and investment, are being finalized. Their signature, according to Vladimir Illicheva, would create a prerequisite for substantial growth and diversification of mutual trade, increase mutual investment and create new value chains.

" As the ultimate goal, we look forward to providing resident enterprises with special economic zones, most of which are small and medium-sized enterprises, with an exhaustive tool to scale and install cross-border supply chains, which will ultimately ensure their presence on the international trade map " , a deputy has concluded.
