The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has ratified an agreement between the Governments of Russia and Belarus on the recognition of an electronic digital signature. The relevant federal law was signed on 30 November 2024.

The signing of the agreement on 15 April 2024 in Moscow is another important step towards the establishment of a single economic space for the two countries. To date, all technical procedures to launch the ECP recognition mechanism should be completed. In this regard, the sectoral agencies of Russia and Belarus are preparing a plan of action for the implementation of the agreement.

The document defines the principles, conditions and procedures for the recognition of an electronic digital signature in an electronic document and also provides for verification of the validity of the signature in the territory of the Federal State.

" The decisions proposed by the agreement will further enhance the integration of processes, including by increasing interaction within the Federal State. An important issue is facilitating access to public procurement and order.
