The regional authorities should make greater use of the authority to monitor guided tours, translators and trainers. In the near future, this list will be supplemented by the possibility of verifying that tourist accommodation facilities comply. One of the key innovations that will affect tourism in the near future will be a change in approaches to classifying accommodation facilities. Particular attention will be paid in this context to the establishment of a regional State control (oversight) system for tourism. Each of the crossings was marked separately depending on the subject of control, and the Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy on Licensing, Control, Accreditation and Self-Regulation of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Natalia Savelev.

She noted in particular that the classification of accommodation facilities would take place in two stages. The first is the self-assessment by the owner of the basement facility and its registration. The second step is to obtain categories (stars) to confirm the quality of services provided. This assessment will be carried out by accredited organizations. The roster can be consulted on the Rosaccreditation website.

In accordance with the proposed legislative changes, the regional authorities are given new powers to control the means of accommodation, including hotels, camping and other tourism infrastructure. Among the powers:

- Verification of the availability of the registry. The task of the region is to monitor the registration of each facility in a single registry, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information to consumers;

- determination of the compliance of the means of accommodation with the type requirements. The object shall meet all specified criteria according to type (e.g. hotel, camping, recreational base);

- control of the overlap of the type and category declared in the advertisement with the data in the register.

" Due to the active development of the various Internet platforms, there is a mandatory reference to the registry on these sites. Tour operators are required to make reference to the official registry, thus ensuring the reliability of the information provided, " emphasized Natalia Savelev.

With regard to the monitoring mechanisms directly, the representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia provided mobile surveys and monitoring of information resources, prescriptions for detecting violations, control purchases (when an unregistered means of accommodation is detected, the inspector has the right to carry out a check-up on the site and verifying compliance with all the rules), raids on popular tourist routes and facilities.

The session was also attended by the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Tourism and Tourism Development of the State Duma of Natalia Kostenko, Minister of Tourism of the Kampcha province, Vladimir Rusanov, Minister for Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad Region, Andrei Hermak and others.
