Putin instructed to secure the right to credit holidays for SMEs
The government and the Bank of Russia will ensure that legislation is amended by June in order to grant small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the right to take a six-month loan vacation every five years. This instruction was given by President Vladimir Putin.
"Granting small and medium-sized businesses the right not more than once every five years to apply to a lender — a financial institution with a requirement to establish a grace period for which the fulfillment of the borrower's obligations under the loan agreement is suspended for up to six months without deterioration of the credit history (credit holidays)," follows from the list, published on the official Kremlin portal.
It is noted that the order must be executed by June 1, the responsible ones are Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Chairman of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina.
Credit holidays — deferral of loan payments for a certain period. The duration of such a delay can be up to six months. Citizens, small and medium-sized businesses who find themselves in a difficult financial situation can take credit holidays.
