The tax regime for self-employed will remain unchanged until 2028, as originally planned. The Minister of Finance, Anton Silwan, spoke of this in the parliamentary hearings on the improvement of Russian tax legislation.

"In our plans, as agreed, this regime does not change for 10 years. All those proposals (supporting self-employed) that were made, they will be implemented," he said.

The special tax regime for self-employed persons introduced in the Russian Federation since 2019 has been in operation for 10 years. Individuals and individual entrepreneurs who transition to a new special tax regime (self-employed) can only pay a tax at a preferential rate of 4 per cent or 6 per cent from self-employment income.

Previously, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Misustin, had reported that the tax regime for self-employed persons would be extended beyond 2028, but specific conditions remained to be discussed.
