A working group on enhancing mutual trade was held on-line by the Russian and Uzbek branches. The meeting identified priority commodity groups to increase the rate of trade in agricultural food, oil, meat and condite products. There has been an increase in the rate of mutual trade in the supply of industrial products and an increase in industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan. Discussions were held on the modernization of the Republic ' s gas transport system, the implementation of contracts to increase the supply of natural gas, oil and petroleum products to Uzbekistan, and the development of the APZ network.

" An important task is to establish a logic. The Russian Minister noted the increase in commodity flows through logistics centres. A successful example is the agrologic complex in Jizak, opened in 2023 with Russian capital. Through such projects, we intend to increase food supplies on both sides. "

The parties discussed the results of the joint work on the medium-term programme for the development of z/ transport and infrastructure in Uzbekistan, as well as regular interactions in the implementation of the road map on the ITC " Belarus - Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan " and the development memorandum of the ITC " Rosia - Caspian Sea - Turkmenistan - Kyrgyzstan " .

The Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Dmitri Volvac, drew attention to the active development of cross-regional cooperation between the two countries, since the beginning of June, the regions of Russia and Uzbekistan have carried out more than 30 reciprocal trade and business visits, during which discussions were held on the establishment of transport, logistics and distribution centres and houses.

“Bashkiria is already building an opto-distribution centre with the participation of Uzbek capital, a centralized agricultural storage, processing and marketing facility with a total area of 20 hectares. The investment rate is more than 2 billion roubles, bringing the example of the Deputy Minister. - In Om oblast, the Uzbek company builds an 8-ga mobile distribution centre, including a temporary storage facility. The completion of the first phase of construction is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. "

The working group focused on the opening of a branch of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Tashkent and the work of the Expert Centre for Strategic Initiatives.

" In conjunction with colleagues from Uzbekistan, the issue of the allocation of a building for the Academy ' s subsidiary, as well as its licensing and accreditation, was addressed by the Rector of the All-Russian Academy for Foreign Trade, Vittoria Idrisov. - The Academy has already launched training programmes for Uzbek public servants and will continue to operate in Tashkent in September 2024, based on a joint faculty with the Tashkent State Economic University.
