The Ministry of Economic Development facilitates business participation in associations and unions

The Government supported the Russian Ministry of Economic Development ' s proposed bill, which would reduce the number of economic societies (AOs and OOs) in associations (unions) to one week. The bill was developed within the framework of the Business Climate Transformation Mechanism.

The mechanism provides for the management of systemic changes in business regulatory and operational responses by the authorities to business community queries.

It aims to remove existing regulatory constraints in the conduct of business, including overstatement or outdated requirements.

" Participating in associations (unions) for companies is an opportunity to increase their attractiveness in the market. Such associations are designed to protect professional interests and develop the industry, achieve socially useful objectives and coordinate entrepreneurship. The bill provides an opportunity for economic societies (AO and GS) to transfer decision-making powers on membership of an association (consults) to a board or board level that would reduce the time frame for such decisions on average to one week " , noting the First Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Ilya Torosov.

Under the new bill, the delegation of authority would be possible, with changes in the statute of society. The decision to join a society in an association (unions) is now made only by the highest body of government, i.e. the general assembly of shareholders or members of society. Formation of the agenda, preparation of ballot papers, circulation of invitations usually takes more than a month. According to FNL, more than 51,000 equity societies (AOs) have been registered in Russia, including 846 public AOs and more than 2.5 million limited liability societies (GS).
