The average compliance of regions with the municipal investment standard exceeds 70 per cent. The Deputy Director of the Department of Productivity, Protection and Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Economic Development, Dmitri Starovat, said that during the launching of the Municipal Investment Forum in Tumeni.

It was co-organized by the Ministry with the National Association of Investment and Development Agencies (NAAIR) and the Tyumen region.

The main objectives of the forums are to form a community of municipal investment commissioners, to publicize municipal investment standards and to exchange practices.

" Last September, the Ministry of Economic Development approved a municipal investment standard consisting of 10 investor recommendations. Its implementation will improve the quality of project escorts in the field. For the exchange of practice, the Deputy Director of the Department of Productivity, Protection and Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Economic Development, Dmitri Starovat, presented the municipal investment forums with NAAR.

According to him, the demand for municipal investment tools in general is very high in the country.

" The average percentage of compliance with the country standard is more than 70 per cent. Nine regions have achieved full compliance, four of which will have similar forums. This is the Tumen and Lipetsk region, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Krasnodar province, and explained by the representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

In the forums, the Municipal Investment Commissioners have an opportunity to present their practice of attracting and accompanying investors, developing municipal inquestlimate and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives.

" It would be interesting to note the interesting case of the Tumen region, the business capitalization programmes. This is a good example of how business is a mentor for municipalities and helps the Territories to identify new investment niche, noted by the Dmitri of the Starovats.

The next municipal investments will be held from 23 to 25 May in Innopolis, from 21 to 23 August in Lipetek, and from 18 to 20 September in Sochi.
