Maxim Reshetnikov: the basis of the supply economy is the growth of investments to expand domestic production
One of the main results of the Government's work in 2023 was to ensure the stability of the economy and its growth, the main task this year is to achieve stability of this growth.
This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, commenting on the results of the report of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in the State Duma.
"The main thing that everyone noted is the stability of our economy, the economic growth that we saw last year and which continues this year. Our main task is to continue to do everything to ensure that this growth is stable, so that its pace meets people's expectations," said the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
He stressed that, first of all, this is due to the formation of the supply–side economy - the task set by the President at SPIEF 2023 and which has become a key one for the Government. First of all, this model is to attract investments to expand domestic production.
The report discussed the work of existing investment support tools – agreements on the protection and promotion of capital investments, the use of NWF funds, and a Project financing factory.
Maxim Reshetnikov drew attention to the fact that investments increased by almost 10% in comparable prices last year.
"This year, everything is not so simple, because high interest rates are in effect, this affects investment activity. Our task is to use the available tools – both subsidizing interest rates and long-term guarantees for investors – to ensure that investment projects continue. We are focused on this on behalf of the Government," he stressed.
The Minister drew attention to the fact that just last week the results of a large selection of projects in the tourism sector totaling about 900 billion rubles were summed up.
"This is what will saturate the economy with the services that our citizens need – hotels, ski resorts, water parks and so on," he said.
According to Maxim Reshetnikov, it is important to continue working on these projects right now, when new proposals for national projects are being prepared in the development of the President's Message to the Federal Assembly.
"Now it is very important to specifically calibrate programs in order to maximize the effect of those funds that are allocated to support the economy and socio-economic development in general," he concluded.
