The largest project on women ' s entrepreneurship was discussed in the Caucasus Investment Forum
The implementation of the unique federal programme of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the " Mother Enterprise " , was a key theme of the discussion session " Supporting family, women and youth entrepreneurship " . The event took place within the framework of the Caucasus Investment Forum in Grozny.
The Deputy Director of the Federal Resource Centre, Olga Terno, Director of Strategic Communications, Anna Starkova, Co-founder of the Natalia Booth Platform, Managing the Chechen Branch of PAO " Sberbank " , Ruslan Misaev, Director of the Centre " My Business " , Tyumen Bagisev, participated in the discussion on women ' s entrepreneurship in Russia.
" Today, 6 million women are engaged in their business in Russia. This is 44 per cent of the total number of entrepreneurs and self-employed. It was only last year that 1.4 million women had decided to open their case. Women ' s Entrepreneurship is promoted by the federal programme Mama Enterprise. Its aim is to make business starters comfortable, to help participants overcome the main obstacles faced by each enterprise at the beginning: lack of knowledge, self-confidence, start-up capital, - notes Olga Terno, Deputy Director of the FBA Federal Resource Centre.
All these tasks are carried out through a five-day training, during which participants develop a financial model for their businesses, analyse their competitors, and seek ways to attract funding. After graduation, business projects are being protected, the best of which receives a grant of 100,000 roubles and other support: promotion of business, assistance in accessing the market.
" In the development of women ' s entrepreneurship, we see a point of growth and digital platforms. 51% of our sellars are women. Most often they are registered as an individual entrepreneur. We've been able to build a long business relationship with them: the average time of cooperation with the market has been over three years. Since our mission is to support women ' s entrepreneurship, we are interested in the implementation of the Mamam Enterprise programme and therefore, for the second year as the project ' s general partner, we note Anna Starkov, Director of Strategic Communications Wildberries.
In 2024, the Mamam Enterprise programme will cover 70 regions. In addition, additional training will be provided to the participants: " Mama in the village " , " Mama in tourism " , " Mama exporter " .
" The Mam ' s Enterprise Programme is not only an opportunity to gain knowledge, but to create the necessary supporting community around itself. This is a very important factor for entrepreneurs, as it allows for the exchange of experiences. Also, " Mother Enterprise " helps women softly, without catastrophic mistakes, understand how they feel about doing business, where they go or not, if they really want to do business " , explains Natalya Booth, co-founder of the iDialogue platform.
The Mamam Enterprise programme has proved its effectiveness: over 8,000 business projects have been launched in 10 years, the programme has been useful for 74 per cent of participants. In the past year alone, 35,000 women received training.
In particular, the result is the outcome of a large team. Russia ' s Ministry of Development oversees the programme throughout the implementation process. The regional phases are being implemented through the My Business Centres. Participants ' partners provide support outside the Mala and Middle Entrepreneurship Project, and have the opportunity to further develop their entrepreneurial skills, for example at the federal phase of the programme, which will take place at the end of the year.
“Sber is actively engaged in supporting women and family entrepreneurship. Of course, we first support these categories of entrepreneurs by our banking services. But not least, non-financial services are important to us: we see ourselves as an institution of development that provides our expertise, helps with mentoring and learning. For example, Sber is a partner of the Mama Enterprise programme, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. The programme enables business mothers to start in a more comfortable business environment”, Ruslan Mizaev, the manager of the Chechen Sberbank office, spoke.
Frequently, family entrepreneurship goes into the leg with women. Research shows that 74 per cent of small and medium-sized businesses are family companies.
" 52 per cent of family enterprises have up to 500 million roubles per year. The largest of these companies are in the consumer sector, services, construction, and recent growth in the light industry, hotel business, tourism is explained by Diana Hubiev, Director of My Business, Karachaevo-Cherkes Republic.
At present, the Russian Government is implementing a wide range of family support programmes, with special attention being paid to many children. This year, therefore, the Tyumen region became a pilot region where the Mamam Enterprise programme was implemented for many children. This request arose last year: four, six and even eight children participated in the programme.
“This is a very interesting experience. The pilot track was attended by 20 women with 91 children. These women never did their business, they had no idea what business was, but each of them had a business idea they wanted. Each of them plans to open their own business. A lot of people have hobby, and it's an opportunity to monetize their own business. It's an extra income. Our task was, therefore, to teach them the business bases with the support of the My Business Centre, to Ilian Bagishev, the head of the My Business Centre, Tyumen province.
Minors ' mothers may participate in the Mam ' Entrepreneur ' s programme and are covered by decree. Partners may come from business ideas or already active businesses, but the company ' s age should not exceed one year at the date of the regional phase. A request for participation in the programme is available on the mother's website. Ugh.
