Dmitri Volvac: Youth Entrepreneurship is a reserve for economic growth

Small and medium-sized businesses are the most accessible forms for self-realization of young people. Involving young people in business becomes one of the basic domestic reserves for economic growth and social development in any country.

The Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Dmitri Volvac, said this at the Forum of Young Leaders, " Young Entrepreneurship in Russia and Kazakhstan: Exchange of Experiences and Prospects of Partnerships " , held in the framework of the 20th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in Ufa, with the participation of the head of Bashiria Habirov and young entrepreneurs from Russia and Kazakhstan.

" We record an annual increase in the business activity of young entrepreneurs. Last year, the number of young SPIs and self-employed under 25 years of age was 2.3 million. In general, in 2024, the number of small and medium-sized businesses reached a record of 6.5 million, a third of the employed population in the sector. " Dmitri Volvac noted.

Government support has played a special role in the development of the youth enterprise sector. For example, grants for young businessmen up to 25 years, training and acceleration programmes for start-up and young entrepreneurs, special preferential credit programmes. In addition, Russian enterprises, according to the Deputy Minister, work closely with foreign partners to supply machines and equipment, glazing, fortressing, construction, lungs, food and agricultural products.

In doing so, the regions are developing their own support measures for entrepreneurship development. More than 800 regional measures are now available to entrepreneurs in Russia. Among the most popular are open and business counselling, education and financial support. They are available at My Business Centres: more than 400 subsidiaries of centres in 88 constituent entities of the Russian Federation operate for start-up and active businessmen.

" In addition to financial assistance, advisory and educational support for young entrepreneurs plays a key role " , Dmitri Volvac emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also drew attention to the presence of many regions of Russia and Kazakhstan in the Ufa forum.

" This demonstrates the general desire to participate in the multi-dimensional bilateral cooperation agenda, which was summarized by Dmitri Volvac. In a rapidly changing world where we live now, it is particularly important to find common ground. This will create a more sustainable future, taking into account the unique cultural diversity of our countries.”
