Dmitri Chernashenko: 2,000 student launch winners will receive 1 million roubles for their project
The 2,000 winners of the student launch competition were identified in 2024. Each student will receive a grant of 1 million roubles for his business project. This was reported by the Vice-President of the Government, Dmitri Chernaschenko.
" Youth entrepreneurship plays an important role in ensuring technological sovereignty, which President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly referred to. We now see that some 70 per cent of the applications supported by the Student Start-up are aimed at finding solutions to Russia ' s priorities. This year, the Government increased the funding of the competition to 2 billion roubles, a grant of 1 million to 2,000 participants. We know a lot of examples when the launch was transformed into a world name company. I am convinced that future Finnalist business projects will also contribute to the country ' s economic growth " , noted by the vice-premier.
He highlighted separately the growing proportion of winners in the Russian universities from friendly countries, which was already 1.6 per cent. The President was tasked with increasing the number of foreign students, and today, according to Dmitri Chernichenko, they had the opportunity, on an equal footing, to try their entrepreneurship in Russia. Among the technological entrepreneurs who have successfully been selected are citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as Colombia and Syria.
According to Russia, universities from Moscow, Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Bashkortstan, Rostovsky, Tomsk, Novosibir and Tumen provinces, as well as Stavropol and Perm Kreiv, have become winners. As the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Valery Falkov, the University Technology Enterprise Platform initiative, one of which is a grant competition, attracts more boys every year.
" This year, a record number of students from 73 regions of our country will receive support for the establishment of their launch. Among the winners, there are students of advanced engineering schools and senior-level students who are already working in young laboratories. This clearly demonstrates that all boys, regardless of their vocation and direction, have the opportunity to carry out themselves in such a complex form of human activity as technological entrepreneurship, the Minister emphasized.
The largest number of supported business projects are oriented towards digital technology (692), creative industries (375) and new instruments (264). In the area of medical, chemical and biotechnologies and resource conservation, a total of 669 projects are planned.
1,346 winners were identified in the priority areas of science, technology and technology development: 830 projects are related to artificial intelligence and digital technology, 214 with agrobiotech, 146 with personalized medicine, 75 with machines, 44 with microelectronics and 37 with BPLA.
" In 2024, the student start-up competition generated a record interest on the part of learners, over 7.7 thousand applications were received, of which 164 were from foreign students in Russian universities. The winning list included 32 projects from Colombia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria and other States. Not only was the diversity of student business projects, but also their complexity, the focus on current challenges and challenges facing the country as a whole " reported by the Director-General of the Serguei Polakov Innovation Promotion Fund.
Student applications were selected in several stages, including online protection. The panel included representatives of the business community, universities and scientific organizations, accelerators and other federal project operators. They assessed technology, market prospects, competitiveness and project qualifications.
The fifth round of the competition was launched from 28 February to 15 April in seven thematic areas: digital technology, medicine and health-saving technology, chemicals and new materials, new instruments and intellectual production technologies, biotechnology, resource-saving energy and creative industries.
The federal project " University Technology Enterprise Platform " has been implemented since 2022 by the Russian Ministry of Science and Technology and is aimed at solving the entrepreneurial potential of young people, creating conditions to support talents and develop competences, professional growth of entrepreneurial personnel in high-technology businesses, and establishing an integrated technology enterprise ecosystem based on Russian universities.
