Today, the Northern Capital has opened the XXIX Petersburg International Economic Forum (PIF), which will be held at the Expoforum congress and exhibition centre on 6 June. The delegation of the Jaroslav region, headed by the Governor, Michael Evravev, is participating. It comprises representatives of the Government of the region and the business community.

We will also join the plenary meeting of the forum with President Vladimir Putin, where the country ' s key economic and political agenda has traditionally been established.

The Petersburg International Economic Forum has been held since 1997 and since 2006 under the patronage and participation of the President of the Russian Federation. Over the past, PEIF has become the leading global platform for business communication and discussion of key economic issues facing Russia, developing markets and the world as a whole.

The forum programme is built around a new model of global development in the context of the transformation of the world economy and brings together more than 150 thematic sessions from the global and Russian economy to technological leadership, social agenda and the development of an environment for life.

Among the projects carried out in the Yaroslav region in the past years by the EMF, the construction of a data processing centre for Innopolis Tech Yaroslavl, which was built around 6.9 billion roubles, the construction of an industrial park in the Jaroslava district (Regionsta), the modernization of the production of the Yarpivo Pivo Water Company. The heaters of the Jaroslava TC have also been reconstructed, the capacity of the Yaroslav Breiler AO has been expanded, and the Vitsky Tourism and Recreation Cluster has been established. Overall, last year, the Forum signed 21 agreements worth more than 90 billion roubles (this is almost 5,000 new jobs) and since 2022, the investment portfolio created by the EMF has already included 56 projects with a total investment of over 229 billion roubles and over 11,000 new jobs.

The Yaroslav region is showing a growth rate of three times higher than the Russian average. In the region, there are 86 major projects in the 425 billion roubles, which will generate 27,000 jobs.

A comprehensive system of support for new projects has been introduced to ensure investment: tax benefits, low-cost land leases, concessional loans. Federal measures to build the necessary infrastructure and subsidize are also actively applied.
