42 per cent of Russian enterprises rely entirely on outsourcing and 35 per cent only on point issues. In general, in 2023, the number of companies that trust intellectual property or patent issues to outside organizations increased by 17 per cent. Experts from the Moscow Digital School educational platform specializing in the training of lawyers in the field of digital and business law confirmed the results of the study.

Others rely on the IT company for patenting, registering or protecting intellectual property. They are followed by advertising and educational facilities.

The increased demand for outsourcing has resulted in an increase in the salaries of professionals in the areas concerned. For example, in 2023, the average monthly income of lawyers increased by 44 per cent to 135,000 roubles. By comparison, in 2022 the figure was 94,000 roubles.

Although Russian business understands the importance of intellectual property rights and patenting, only 31 per cent of companies have expertise in these matters.

" Our joint study also shows that 57 per cent of companies have experienced intellectual property rights violations. However, 19 per cent of these violations are routinely experienced by Ekaterina Tchak, the manager of the Tac and Partners Legal Company.

Previously, the Bank for Entrepreneurs and Enterprises " Tchaka " reported that 240,000 new individual entrepreneurs were registered in Russia in the first quarter of 2024. It's a record for the past two years. However, according to ERGIP, the number of IP registrations exceeded the number of liquidations by 42 per cent.
