During the first half of 2024, Russian citizens and organizations submitted over 3,000 applications to the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent) for the protection of breeders. This is 21 per cent higher than last year and 73.4 per cent higher than the 2022.

According to the Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Maxim Kolesnikov, the complainants ' activity suggests that domestic producers have become serious about the product, understands its importance in enhancing the competitiveness of their businesses and promoting their products.

" The achievement of technological leadership is one of the main objectives set by the Head of State. Increasing the patent activity of companies and physicals is a key area in its decision. As a result, there are indeed technological developments that can occupy niche with unique and demanded products " , emphasized by Maxim Kolesnikov.

The industrial sample is an external product. Its originality makes the goods recognized, improves sales and is intellectual property, and uniqueness is confirmed by the Federal Institute for Industrial Property (FIPS). The purpose of the examination is to verify the new and original nature of the industrial sample.

" Most applications for industrial samples were in the category of " Canadian products, office goods and art and education supplies, and labels were 11.8 per cent of the total. The category " Graphic symbols and logos, " Interior " is followed by 9.4 per cent. Applications for industrial samples of " Transport and lifting devices " , this year, account for 8.2%. The apprentices of clothing and galentery are 8.1 per cent. The applications for Taru and Package were 7.2 per cent, noted by the head of Rospatent Yuri Zubov.

He said that, among the regions, Moscow was the leader in applying for industrial samples. A total of 34 per cent of the bids were submitted by capital producers and entrepreneurs. St. Petersburg and Moscow Region follow: 9.8 and 8.5 per cent respectively. The Voronez and Sverdlov regions account for 4.5 and 3.4 per cent of the applications, respectively.
