The main results of the work of the regional tourism industry this year were discussed at a meeting of the Government of the Yaroslavl region, which was held by Governor Mikhail Evraev. – Tourism is one of the locomotives of the region's economic development, as well as industry, agriculture, and construction.

Moreover, Yaroslavl is the capital of the Golden Ring," Mikhail Evraev stressed. – When we talk about tourism, we understand that it is landscaping, beautiful parks, building facades, roads, sidewalks, lighting and much more. There is still a lot of work to do, and first of all it is being done for residents and guests who leave us a lot of money by investing in the Yaroslavl region – this year, according to preliminary estimates, 18 billion rubles. This money was left with residents and small businesses. Last year it was almost twice as much.

Our task is to make sure that the amount doubles annually, it will be a great way forward. According to forecasts, the number of visits to tourist facilities by the end of this year will reach 9 million times, which is 11% more than last year. Previously, 2.8 million tourists stayed overnight in the region – this number has increased by more than a quarter since last year.

Tax revenues from tourism activities to the budget have increased by 33.8% since 2022. Already in 10 months of this year, they amounted to 438.1 million rubles. Work on the development of the industry is underway in the region in several directions, including within the framework of the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry" initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the national project, in 2023, the region received federal funds for the first time to support event tourism – 10 million rubles were allocated for the festival "Eat. Look. Run away."

Much attention was paid to the promotion of the region. Advertising campaigns were conducted in the cities of the flight program, information tours for tour operators, press tours, assistance was provided in filming TV programs for federal channels and much more. Next year, work in these areas will continue. Among the new ones for 2024 is the launch of a cashback program – investors in the tourism sector will be compensated for up to 50% of the costs of implementing projects in a number of promising areas for development within the established amounts.
