Mikhail Evraev lit the Eternal Flame in Victory Park in Tutaev.

On Defender of the Fatherland Day, an Eternal Flame was lit in Victory Park in the left-bank part of Tutaev at the monument to fellow Tutaevites who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the governor of the Yaroslavl region Mikhail Evraev, members of veterans' organizations, participants of the SVO, residents of the city.  

More than 22 thousand Tutaevites defended their homeland on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. More than five thousand people did not return from the battlefields. Five natives of Tutaev land were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.  Victory Park was created immediately after the war. The whole city took an active part in its development. Since the installation of the "Fire of Glory" pedestal in 1985, Gorenje has been provided by imported balloon gas. This year, work was completed to connect it to the centralized gas supply.  – As a sign of appreciation and respect for the heroes, the residents built Victory Park and took an active part in the creation of the monument. And today it has appeared again in a technically improved form. 

The eternal Flame is now connected to the centralized gas supply and will burn constantly – as a symbol of our memory, as a sign of our unity, as an example of the heroism of our people," Mikhail Evraev noted. – We also have memorials where seasonal shutdowns of the Eternal Flame take place. And we are now making every effort to provide technical capabilities for year-round operation of gas systems. According to the head of the Tutaevsky district Olga Nizova, the park and the territory near the monument are the central venue for patriotic events dedicated to Victory Day, Memorial Day and other memorable dates. Landscaping will continue. 

It is planned to install street lighting, video surveillance and tile laying in pedestrian areas.  After the opening of the memorial, Mikhail Evraev informally discussed issues of support for military personnel and their families with participants of a special military operation on vacation and Tutaev volunteer activists. Larisa Nikitina, Marina Smirnova, Natalia Kotova organized a humanitarian aid collection point in left-bank Tutaev, support a hospital in Yaroslavl, sew bedding, underwear and thermal suits for fighters. – We are sewing a victory for the guys, – one of the activists shared. – How can I be on the sidelines when they are fighting for the future of my children and grandchildren. And we cannot sit idly by, because we know that our help is needed. 

A simple human thank you from the fighters from the front line, from their parents, spurs them on even more, does not allow them to stop. Of course, we try to attract as many people as possible to help our guys. 

The participants of the SVO told how important support from home is, how to overcome fear and difficulties, and also noted what technical equipment is needed. Mikhail Evraev handed over the keys to the KamAZ car to the servicemen, who will soon go to the front line. Two more cars have already left for the SVO zone and will arrive at the location of the units today. The equipment is intended for soldiers of the 136th, 214th and 299th regiments.
